Get to know Metallic Ink

Metallic ink screen printing is used in the custom apparel industry to create shiny, metallic effects on garments of all kinds. It involves using metallic inks containing tiny particles of reflective materials like aluminum, bronze, or copper. These metallic inks are forced through a fine mesh screen onto the desired substrate during screen printing, creating a printed design with a metallic sheen.

Everything you need to know about metallic ink.

The chosen printing method and design location impact the overall cost. More colors and a more extensive surface area cover contribute to a higher price per garment.

Screen printing suits large, simple designs and becomes more cost-effective with increased quantities.

Metallic Ink

We strongly recommend hand-washing items with metallic ink designs to extend their original look.

If you NEED to use a washing machine, follow these instructions:

  • Turn the garment inside out before placing it into the washer.

  • Use a phosphate-free, gentle detergent such as Woolite.

  • Run on a normal or gentle cycle in cold water.

  • Line Dry

You should not iron, dry clean, or run your metallic ink screen printed garments through the dryer.

Also, follow the care instructions listed on the garment itself.

Metallic ink screen printing transforms ordinary apparel into extraordinary works of art. It is a process that seamlessly merges innovation with creativity.

Here’s How It Works:

  1. Design Selection: It all begins with your vision. You provide us with your custom design, whether a logo, graphic, or text, and we’ll work with you to ensure it’s ready for printing.

  2. Preparation: We prepare the screen for printing once your design is finalized. A fine mesh screen is meticulously coated with a light-sensitive emulsion, and your design is transferred onto it, creating a stencil corresponding to your artwork.

  3. Ink Mixing: Our printing pros then mix the metallic ink to perfection. These specialized inks contain tiny metallic particles, such as rose gold, yellow gold, or silver, that create a stunning reflective effect.

  4. Printing Process: With the screen prepared and the ink mixed, it’s time to bring your designs to life. The screen is placed over the fabric or garment, and the metallic ink is carefully pressed through the stencil onto the surface below.

  5. Curing: The printed garment undergoes a process to ensure durability and longevity. This typically involves passing it through the stencil onto the surface below.

  6. Quality Check: Before your apparel is ready for delivery, we conduct rigorous quality checks to guarantee that every design detail shines through.

  7. Final Touches: Once the printing process is complete, your custom apparel is ready for its final touches, such as folding, packaging, and shipping.

The result? A dazzling masterpiece that seamlessly integrates metallic brilliance into your custom apparel, turning heads wherever you go. With metallic ink screen printing, your imagination is the only limit.
