A T-Shirt, Four Months, 350 Degrees

Almost four months ago, we printed shirts for SharePoint Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia.
Oddly enough, one of the shirts found its way into the darkside of the dryer for the past four months. As you can see, the once navy shirt is far from navy. This shirt is now completely brown, but wildly, it's a very, very consistent brown. I'd think it would have significant color variation from being folded and crunched of the last four months, but it doesn't seem to be. The brown is very constant. Having known no different, I would have said it was a brown shirt from the start, it looks that "good."
It clearly was torn to shreds after months of light belt friction and heavy, 350 degree heat hitting it for 40 hours a week over 16 weeks.

Next Level Apparel's Burnout Hoodie
A client just brought this burnout hoodie to my attention. Great piece from Next Level Apparel, style 6521.
This would be a great hoodie to throw a simple graphic on and get some serious attention.
The issue to keep in mind when designing a graphic to print on a burnout shirt like this is the cotton/poly count. At 65% poly 35% cotton, there isn't much cotton in this piece to discharge, so lighter color inks will be very dull and muted.
That actually ties in well with yesterdays post, Discharge On An American Apparel 50/50.
Next Level does however make this hoodie in white, so if you want bright
The Email Counting T-Shirt
No, it's not on the drawing board for us :) Pretty innovative though, until it shocks your nipples off!
USA Today feature with Poppa D's Nuts
We were recently connected with the guys at Poppa D's Nuts in Orlando to print shirts for some of their marketing pieces. Poppa D's Nuts was recently selected by the USA Today to participate in their "Small Business Challenge" which watches and coaches five selected businesses as they struggle for entrepreneurial success.
Poppa D's was trying to work around the "red tape" associated with starting a business. One of their most challenging thus far has been protecting and promoting their name. Poppa D's was digging our eco-friendlier shirts so we had them into the shop one afternoon and printed up some nutty swag for the crew.
If you're loving Poppa D's as much as we are, make sure you cast your vote sure to vote here >> I'm voting Poppa D's >>
