In our February post titled Over 3,000 hours of service in Orlando this Saturday, we wrote about Summit Church's niceSERVE event.  They also publish Summit Magazine twice a year.  Combining the two, the Spring 2010 issue of Summit Magazine focuses on service with niceSERVE taking the cover story.  We were fortunate enough to have one of our shirts anchor that cover, so we wanted to again touch on niceSERVE.

niceSERVE takes place three times a year for three hours on a Saturday morning.  Teams from 10 to 200 volunteers embark all over Central Florida to serve different areas of the community.  Projects range from gleaning to painting houses to cleaning the elephant moat at the Central Florida Zoo.

I personally have participated in at least the last four niceSERVE's.  From gleaner to carpenter, I always look forward to the next niceSERVE.

This springs attendance was near 1,000 people, all contributing at least three hours of service for over 3,000 total hours of service in Central Florida.  Its a truly amazing event.
