Northland Church 5k Run 4 Hope 2010 shirts

We were fortunate enough to be able to print Northland Church's Run 4 Hope 5k shirts this year. The race is benefiting Kingdom Noise, a great non-profit with programs in South Africa, Swaziland and Sri Lanka.

We printed this design on Tultex charcoal shirts.  It's a great design they Northland put together, a very "dirty" looking color combo with the black on charcoal.  We love the pop the blue and red give the design!  Great work over there!

For more on this years run, check out www.kingdomnoise5k.com or www.northlandchurch.net.

We want to wish the runners the best!  Good luck to you all.

Mogul Street Reserve Shirts In 3D

mogal street reserve shirt front image

We just had a new concept on custom t-shirts with the guys from Mogul Street Reserve.  They have a "3D like" logo image which they wanted to use on some shirts.  We printed them up and they came out great.  We are however, yet to find a pair of 3D glasses to see if the 3D effect actually works, but hey, it's a super cool idea!

To hear some Mogul Street Reserve, check out their MySpace at www.myspace.com/mogulstreetreserve

Here is their bio: Mogul Street Reserve is a collective of songwriters and instrumentalists whose origins lie in the Panhandle of Florida. The band was founded by Byron Clark (drums, vocals), Jack Pfiester (bass, vocals), Chris Prinzel (guitars, vocals), and Ryan Wood (guitars, vocals). These musicians united to form Mogul Street Reserve in January of 2006 when life-long friends Byron Clark and Ryan Wood met their equals Jack Pfiester and Chris Prinzel. They have since relocated to Tampa and established a reputation for putting on high energy live performances that appeal to fans of progressive music as well as casual music listeners. Most recently Mogul Street Reserve's lineup has shifted into a power trio... The band has been writing new material and wrapping up completion of its first professional recording; a three song EP exhibiting the band's appreciation for musicianship as well as their strong melodic sensibility and knack for memorable hooks. Stay tuned for the exciting near-future of this ambitious band of musicians.

Summit School in Ft. Myers is Fishin' For Tuition

summit school fishin for tuition close up image

We were recently sent a winning image from Summit School in Ft. Myers Florida.  They held a contest with their students to draw an image for their "Fishin' for Tuition" project.

We took the winning image onto t-shirts, nearly perfectly imitating the winning drawing, right down to the crayon effect.  Take a close look at the shirt.  It seriously looks like a crayon was used on the front of these!

The UCF Student Union Goes Black, Gold and GREEN

ucf black gold and green shirt front

The Student Union at the University of Central Florida in Orlando has a large push in green initiatives right now.  Backed by Student Government and Student Development and Enrollment Services, they have some great ideas in play to help develop a more sustainable campus.

When we originally started discussing shirts, they were attracted to our waterbase inks.  Upon further discussion, we then moved into organic cotton shirts for the project.  We ended up using organic cotton shirts from Anvil in a most appropriate "natural" color.  We had several comps for design ideas, but finally settled on one which was both attractive and got the message across.

To find out more about how the nations 5th largest university's union is going green, check out the unions green page.

Thanks for helping keep Orlando black, gold and GREEN UCF!

1150 Miles Later...The New Dryer Has Landed

upstairs press picture of the new dryer and press

With the growing demand for our waterbase and discharge ink, we felt time to make an major equipment upgrade in the shop.  A dryer is the last major piece of the printing puzzle and we wanted to ensure the highest quality product available while keeping our production from being being too backed up.

This new upgrade is a gas powered dryer, rather than it's electric counterpart.  Not only is gas more efficient to operate, but it's also a cleaner burning source of energy than electricity.

The first week of Febuary we traveled from Orlando up to Alabaster, AL to pick up this new monster.  We had 1150 miles, 67 gallons of gas and 20 hours round trip, all knocked out in one long day!  We had to take a saw to the crate which housed the dryer to fit it into the trailer, but we were used to that.  U-Haul gives trailer dimensions, but fail to give the door dimensions to get into the trailer.

Overall, it was a very smooth trip, just a rather long day.  Here is a picture of the new dryer installed.
